CRASHDIET: 'Eighties' Hard Rock Is Alive And Well In Sweden
September 15, 2005For the first time in over 14 years, a new Eighties hard rock-style album has broken into the top of the charts in Sweden. The debut album from Stockholm rockers CRASHDIET, entitled "Rest in Sleaze", entered the hard rock chart in Sweden at No. 1 and No. 12 on the regular chart (it has since moved down to position No. 18). Also for the first time on over 10 years, a newly signed "sleaze rock" band has been signed directly to a major company — Universal Music.
CRASHDIET are four men from Stockholm, Sweden. They are all around 20 years of age. The band are currently on a sold-out tour of Scandinavia. In October, they will tour Japan and after that the U.K. and Germany. The album has received amazing reviews in both mainstream media as well as hard rock press.
